Golfing in the Riviera Maya is an experience of a lifetime. Some of the world’s most famous designers (Robert Trent Jones II, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Tom Lehman, etc.) chose to make their mark on this golfer’s paradise. Precise course designs, natural beauty, fantastic weather and world class facilities are minutes away. Golfing here can be expensive so be sure to call the course directly and inquire about specials such as twilight discounts or only playing 9 holes. Here are a few of our favorites:
To assure the residents enjoy an unparalleled golf course experience, Grupo Piñero selected the globally-renowned firm of Robert Trent Jones, II. The architects have successfully integrated the natural Yucatan wonders surrounding the 27 hole golf course. Fairways flow along the natural contours of a jungle dense with Mangrove and Gum trees. Cenotes and limestone boulders add intriguing challenges for all levels of players. The championship course is breathtaking and the 9 hole course is perfect for a late afternoon quick game after a morning on the beach. You can also get excellent instruction from a certified PGA instructor at the covered Golf Academy.
Located in the Playa del Carmen hotel zone known as Playacar in the Mexico’s beautiful Mayan Riviera, this 18 hole Playacar Golf Course was built amongst the lush foliage of the Yucatan Peninsula, making this golf course not only beautiful, but challenging as well. The Playacar golf course is all-inclusive, meaning all your food and drinks are included in the price! This is a great bonus at a great golf course in the Riviera Maya. The Club provides a first class practice area, complete with a spectacular driving range, and a large putting green including chipping, pitching, and greenside bunker areas.
Another outstanding golf course in the Riviera Maya is El Camaleon at Mayakoba. Mayakoba is the home of the Mayakoba Classic which is the only PGA tournament in the Riviera Maya. Designed by famed golfer and expert course designer Greg Norman, Mayakoba is truly a state of the art course in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
The course bends through three distinct landscapes – tropical jungle, dense mangroves, and oceanfront stretches of sand with holes bisected by massive limestone canals. Norman has even incorporated a cenote, a massive, ancient cavern common to the area, into the heart of the opening fairway. Mayakoba is truly a first-rate golfing experience in the Riviera Maya.
One of the most economical golf course in the entire Riviera Maya is Puerto Aventuras Golf Club. It has 9 holes and is also very casual and laid back. You can walk, use a hand cart or an electric cart. It also has several great tennis courts as well. Definitely worth a visit!
Eric was very easy to work with and everything was just as he told me. Also went to the trouble to send me instructions on different things to make sure I understood everything that we will be using.
We were very pleased with our stay at the property at inlet beach. Our host Eric was very helpful and gave clear, prompt communication during our visit. The home was clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We loved having use of the golf cart to visit the beach which was a quick trip down the street. The home was close to restaurants, shopping, grocery store and just about anything needed. We cant wait to return and would recommend this property if you are considering a trip near the 30a area.
We had a wonderful stay in Eric’s place in Baytowne. The condo was beautiful and the views of the bay was so pretty. Everything we needed was there. Eric was a wonderful host. Checking in on us
through our stay to see if we had any issues or needing anything. Best host we’ve ever had.
This was our second time staying at this Baypine cottage. We highly recommend Rentals by Eric. Having such a relaxing visit, we extended our stay additional days. Eric provides top self service and his property is immaculate. Thank you Eric. We look forward to booking additional trips in the future.
Eric was easy and fast. The condo was clean and well equipped. It was a great week and we played mediocre at great courses. I’d come stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks Eric
